El Rancho Grande Restaurant in San Juan

Food was good. The price was good. The service was acceptable considering they were so busy. Despite the size if feels a bit cramped due to all the tables, but the paintings and decorations help it feel home-y. Good place to stop if you're here visiting the Church as its just a bit further down the same road.

I visited this restaurant when i traveled to visit the church. The staff and servers are very friendly and checked on our table often. The food was delicious as well as the drinks. I highly recommend it.

I was impressed with this restaurant. We visited with a large group only 45 minutes to closing and they welcomed us in. They brought out the food quickly and the drinks were strong. I will be back to try move of the food.They didn't have a botana for one but I have the Panchos Matzatlan which were close enough.

Placed an order @ 7:50pm because they have curve side they said order would be ready in 20 minutes We noticed people getting of their car going inside some with mask some without so my time was way due decide to get off to check on my order a waitress met me at my door took my card & said I'll take your order to your car so we waited & waited & waited Till I said this not wright Went inside asked what was going on come to find out they never placed our order but yet they had charged my card SADLY TO SAY THEY TOOK MORE THAN HOUR 🤨 AND top things of I ordered beef enchiladas they gave CHEESE enchiladas to hungry to go back

Refried beans were hard, beef taco tasted like fish, flour tortillas were hard. It took 20 minutes to get our food, and they were not busy at all. Rice and salsa were delicious.

Very clean & staff is very attentive and courteous... We went to celebrate my husbands birthday without making a reservation and they had a few tables available for us. Mango margaritas are the BOMB! 💕 Highly recommend them! Botana was also really good! Botana x 6 will literally feed 10-12 people, we had so much food left over! Love this place! 💕💕

Food is always great unfortunately service isn't always that great. It seems as the cooks don't know how to read their tickets properly because they mess up on our order almost every time we're there. Ill still keep going though because the food is really good.

The Restaurant very nice and clean the food good the staff are very nice my family been there many times I recommend it.

Had a very unpleasant experience. They got my order wrong they put onions on my fajitas when I asked for no onions. They also forgot to include my tortillas and they didn’t give utensils. They also forgot to give an extra side of rice I ordered and they gave my dad a baked potato instead of french fries. My dad had to go back and get them to fix the order. Also the extra side of rice wasn’t cooked well it was hard. Also the restaurant was crowded they even hosted a graduation party, which concerns me with this coreana virus going on. I’m very disappointed and won’t go back in a while. 😠

My sister chose this place to eat for lunch on her birthday and she wanted mollejas but they didnt have any for the day. That was already i disappointment. But we still ordered and it took 35 mins to get our food. The food was good jus took to long. I would give this place another chance...

We ordered a soup called tlanpeño, delishes! Friendly atmosphere, GREAT for groups. They just moved to this new location across the street from where it was. Plates are a very good size just as big as there flavors.

FLOOR IS SILPERY POTENTIAL SLIP HAZARD. Watiers do not check up on you as frequently as they should be. Food takes a long time to get ordered. Poor service

Clean establishment. Clean restrooms. Food was quick in coming out. The server made an error and brought me the wrong plate without my knowledge. However, the manager was observant and quickly brought me the correct plate. She corrected the issue and due to that, I am giving this establishment 5 stars.

Honestly food could have been way better! Our waitress was great! There was idk if it was the manager or the owner in the reception area that for some reason couldn’t even give you a kind smile lol. She looked a bit stuck up!

Caldo de Marisco was warm and had no flavor..... and botana for 4 was skimpy......

El Rancho Grande is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the RGV. To the homemade tortillas to the customer service. I've ordered a variety of items on their menu and everything tastes great. The buddy work the employees provide is excellent. The woman in charge has great leadership skills and it reflects on the rest of the employees. I look forward to my future visits. Breakfast is delicious. Breakfast plates can feed two people. Staff is friendly. Prices are great.

Only 1 star bc Google wont let me post less!!! We went there for lunch and we were very disappointed. The service was ok so the waitress isnt at fault but the food is horrible. My son got burnt tortillas on his quesadillas and didnt finish his plate. Me and my wife ordered the rib eye and steak and it was brunt dry. To the point we just gave up on eating them. Finally we just ordered taco de barbacoa thinking you can't mess up that and boom no flavor worst food in South Texas

First time here, went for breakfast with family, I ordered menudo. Waitress was phenomenal, outstanding service, had a great laugh together before breakfast. Made us feel right at home. Food was very well served, delicious! Will definitely return 👌

Today's visit was great!! We were greeted by a a smiling host who guided us to our table. Our server was very courteous and friendly. Good attitude. Order was taken promptly and brought out in a timely manner. Highly recommend this place.

A few days ago, myself and my husband ordered take out. When we arrived our food wasn't ready yet, we made our way to the bar to have a some drinks while we wait. My husband had a beer and I a paddle sampler, in all the years that I've been going there.None of the other bartenders have ever given me the choice of different syrups that this bartender (Ron) had. It was wonderful to have a choice and a wonderful experience. We had a delightful conversion about different drinks, from cocktails to wines. He was very knowledgeable and insightful. We left the bar very happy and content, the food we had took home was very enjoyable. We're definitely coming back and highly recommend the bar area.

Bravo! My first visit was not what you would call spectacular. The server was rude inattentive. He would literally come drop the food on the table and leave. Wow. I didn't eat my food. This time around was different. I was greeted as we entered. When we sat down the server came to our table right away. Smiling. Greeted us. Awesome. She was quick, polite, and very attentive. She brought us to go containers before we even asked for them. Excellent comeback. Thank you for the great service.

Never really got to eat or sit down since apparently the busboys where nowhere to be found and there were plenty of tables to be cleaned but no one to clean then. Decided to come instead to my old faithful Trevino's Restaurant in Edinburg. Thank you very much.

Exceptional food but the service is a disaster.Food takes forever to get to your table and servers look confused and tired.Hire some extra help! Love your food, kudos to the kitchen staff.Update: ate lunch there again today. Service was exceptional! My new favorite restaurant!

This is the first time I go back since their relocation. I have to admit that it's just okay. I would've given the place two stars, but the friendliness and attention given by the staff pushed it to three stars. The food simply isn't as good as other places and for the price just doesn't seem to be up to par with other restaurants. I ordered a Chile Relleno and it was small and lacked flavor. Maybe it was the sauce but it just didn't have that authentic taste. Very bland. I also took a bite of an enchilada and the powder used to make the sauce was overused and made the the sauce taste overwhelming. The place always seems packed but I believe it's because of the discounts offered to law enforcement; parking lot is full of law enforcement vehicles. I think there's definitely room for improvement. **I'm editing this review to add that I took some enchiladas to my kids and one said "I didn't like them, they didn't seem authentic".

We enjoy the zucchini appetizer. Great location, their bar is very nice and of course the food is delicious.
